Shauna Carr

Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership
Shauna works to attract new investment and support job creation and business expansion in the petrochemical/bio/sustainable chemistry/energy/hydrogen sectors currently established in Sarnia-Lambton. Shauna’s role is to help expand the Hybrid Chemistry Cluster as well as the Petrochemical and Refining Complex to support innovative and ground breaking processes and investment.
Shauna works closely with a 20-member stakeholder group of producers and users in the hydrogen field to explore the opportunities in the emerging hydrogen sector. As an Economic Development Officer, Shauna has had the pleasure of working with established and emerging companies located or interested in locating in Lambton County, for over 3 years. Shauna believes that the traditional petrochemical sector will be a leader in the emerging energy sector while allowing room for visionaries solely committed to the low carbon and hydrogen economy.
She is proud to be SLEP’s liaison to the three local First Nation Communities located within Lambton County’s border.
Dr. Anahita Khanlari

Aspen Technology, Inc.
Dr. Anahita Khanlari has joined AspenTech in 2022 as Industry Director for Chemicals. She is responsible for adoption of AspenTech digital solutions in the chemical industry to advance energy efficiency, circular economy, and emissions and waste reduction.
She has broad experience in innovation, product development, manufacturing, and field applications in global chemicals markets including olefins, specialty monomers, and water treatment both as a researcher and an industry technical consultant in Nalco Water. She has successfully brought several solutions to these downstream markets to address sustainability and longevity of the operations valued at over $50MM.
Dr. Khanlari has several published articles and patents in the areas of olefin process treatment and specialty polymers. Dr. Khanlari earned a PhD in chemical engineering at the University of Kansas.
Amir Mashayekhi

Amir brings almost 30 years of experience as sales and business development from multinational global companies including ABB and Wood plc. Amir served as VP of Business Development in Wood Calgary oil and gas business unit supporting mid and downstream clients in Western Canada. He has been relocated to Ontario recently to grow the Wood Energy and Energy Transition offering to the Sarnia chemical valley industries. This is in addition to his role as Operations Manager of Wood Renewable and Power engineering office in Oakville, Ontario.
He has deep experience in the global Petrochemical, Refining, Renewable fuels, and Chemicals markets coupled with his leadership in the EPC market.
Amir is a Chemical Engineer with specialty in refining and has worked in many other industries such as Water and Wastewater treatment in his early career. He has passion about energy transition and decarbonization.
Katherine Walker

Katherine Walker has over 20 years’ experience as President and CFO of several technology companies, developing industrial software applications. She brings stability, continuity and adaptability to an ever-changing technological environment. She is an expert in understanding information flow and incorporating client needs and expectations into user friendly applications.
As co-owner of a group of companies, she is accustomed to meeting the needs of industry’s requiring specialized and complex solutions. She has a deep understanding of the culture and facility infrastructure in the Energy, Chemistry and other heavy industry sectors.
Katherine is a former municipal treasurer having held a designation in municipal (MAP) and Business Administration. She has a breadth of knowledge in both municipal politics and municipal administration, and former technology professor at Lambton College. An avid participant on several local boards over her professional career she understands the importance of good governance in her role as a director.
